Greetings blog readers. I hope 2026 has been a blessing to you so far. I apologize for taking so long to post. Please forgive me and be merciful! May 2026 be your best yet in the Mighty name of Jesus.

Sometime last year, I saw a video where a man of God was releasing curses on a former leader who was in his ministry, and the words were so toxic and cruel. I was in shock that these things could have proceeded from a man of God. I discerned that he had a great relationship with his former sheep and that he had invested a lot into him. The depth of his pain was understandable, but the words released were like missiles, and there was no area of that man’s life that his leader left untouched. I felt it for both of them. This, sadly, has become a normal occurrence in the body of Christ. I have come across quite a few persons who have become stagnant, misaligned, sick, have unnatural complications and in one case, death because of word curses from disgruntled leaders. Some will even pretend to still care, but do so only to discover what is being done so they can frustrate it. Parents, teachers, elders, husbands, politicians etc., can have similar effects.

I have nothing to say to those leaders as they are in God’s employment. However, I want to teach the wounded, broken and cursed a strategy from the Word of God. A short time ago, God had me re-read the book of Esther and pointed out two major things to me that I had overlooked for years. The book of Esther is the only book in the Bible that does not mention God. However, because God is a King, the story is still relatable to Him and how His Kingdom operates.
Queen Vashti, through disobedience, lost her position, and another who was loved by all and favoured above all the women was put in her place. (Esther 2:15-17). This new Queen’s Hebrew name was Hadassah, which means a myrtle tree. The Jewish symbolism for this name, the sweet-smelling Myrtle, is linked to righteousness, good deeds, and upright character. Esther, an orphan, was raised right. Her new name Esther, meant star and hidden. It is my belief that much about Esther was hidden until the appointed time to shine.
The story introduces a man named Haman who became a friend of the king by virtue of his position in the kingdom. Haman was a prime minister to the king, and his counsel was solicited and valued. This man had the king’s ear and became an established figure whose words were valued over the years.
Mordecai, Esther’s cousin, who had adopted her when her parents died, was a well-respected Jewish leader who was in a right relationship with the God of his ancestors. The king, when he promoted Haman, had commanded that people bow down to him. (Esther 3:1-2). Mordecai refused to show that level of reverence to a mortal man. This caused hatred to brew in Haman, and so he began to plot to wipe out the nation from which Mordecai was from. Haman sought and received permission from the king to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day. This became a written decree that was signed and sealed with the king’s seal. This made it irrevocable and irreversible. (Esther 3:8 -14) Although this decree went to every province the Bible said, the city of Shushan, where the place was situated, became perplexed. (Esther 3:15)
Mordecai alerted Esther to the matter, and her response was not satisfactory to him. He told her that God would indeed deliver the Jews, and she should understand that she had been positioned by God to be an instrument through which deliverance could be had. Should she not use the opportunity given, her and her father’s house would be destroyed.
Esther quickly gave an instruction for all the Jews to fast with her, and she would go to the king without being lawfully summoned, and if she perishes, then so be it. At the end of the three days, she went to see the king and got so much favour that the king was willing to grant unto her even half of the kingdom. Esther did not quickly utilize this favour but instead had two banquets for the king and Haman (Esther 5:3). Haman, during this time, had gallows made to hang Mordecai, but in the same period, the king discovered that Mordecai was instrumental in the past regarding the saving of His life. The king, therefore, honoured Mordecai, which further infuriated Haman.
At the Second Banquet, Esther reveals to the king that Haman wanted her people dead, and the king separated himself in anger (Esther 7:6). Haman tried to throw himself at the mercy of the queen, but the king came in, saw it as an advance made against his queen, and Haman was killed on the same gallows he built for Mordecai. Haman’s house was given to Esther, and Mordecai was given the king’s ring to write another irrevocable decree. This gave the Jews the right to defend themselves and take as plunder the property of their enemies on the same day it was said they should be destroyed. This brought joy to the Jews, and they were victorious. Several persons also became Jews as a result of this victory experienced.

Lesson Learnt
It doesn’t matter who has the king’s ear that has made themselves an enemy to your destiny, there is still hope. Any leader who releases word curses or sets traps for you in the realms of the spirit because they are pros in the navigation of the spiritual realm, still can be challenged. Haman boasted and was confident about his decree because the king did not oppose his decree but permitted it. The Bible says a causeless curse cannot alight, however, if you have certain breaches (any form of rebellion, disobedience, ignorance, unforgiveness, pride, dishonour, etc.) in your life, a curse can become greatly impactful. The curse was set in motion to manifest, but there was a divine disruption that led to an eruption of victory. The strategy Esther used was prayer and absolute fasting. This is a powerful strategy in dealing with curses from any form of leadership. Apostle Dr. Richard often says that when two Christians are at war, it is rough because God loves them both. Though Haman was not a Jew, in this context, both he and Esther had the king’s ear and were in a position of influence regarding the decisions for the nation. You and your leader both have God’s ear, but He is a God of justice and examines what is presented to Him. Heaven has a court system that is very active. Cases have to be presented for them to be addressed. Esther first repositioned herself through fasting and prayer; this was like the documenting of your side of the story, giving proof of why the matter should change in your favour and what you desire the verdict to be in court. The queen found favour with the king, and the banquet was set to handle the revealing of the matter in a peaceful and safe way. A favourable verdict was granted as the heart of the enemy was exposed. Fasting and prayer re-positions you before God, it opens your eyes to mysteries surrounding issues and it reveals strategies as to how to handle a matter. Haman’s decree was irrevocable, and so another decree, a stronger decree, was written to override it. The Jews all over the 127 provinces fought well. People who were non-Jews acknowledged the power of God and became Jews amidst this ordeal. The Bible says life and death is in the power of the tongue. This is no joke. Words once released cause things to be set in motion. Words can be captured by people or spirits and there can be interference if words are not properly stewarded. This is why the Bible says even for idle words we will have to give account. We should aim to capture every negative word and render them null and void in Jesus’ name. Prayers dealing with curses and active altars have to be fervent, consistent and sincere in order to be effective. Prayer should not cease on the matter until God says so. You would be surprised how far some people will go because of pain, greed, jealousy or pride.

Power belongs to God. Understand that if you choose to submit and surrender your life to Him fully, He is able to inspire you to release decrees to combat any curse in motion against your life, your family, and God-given assignments. Keep the main thing the main thing, be determined for you, your family and those within your scope of influence to succeed. Harbour no feelings of resentment, anger, bitterness, malice or strife within your heart. No one escapes the eyes of God, the one who judges men’s hearts, words and deeds. Keep your hands clean and your heart pure. Seek to run your race with patience, grow fat in the spirit until everything that is a yoke breaks!
Your life can change, and if you decide that your life must change, then use prayer and fasting to destroy curses and evil decrees!
