Lessons from Uganda Mission

Missions

Uganda, I love this place and the people! Would you believe that most business places and corner shops play Jamaican music? Yes, Yes, they love our music; we even met a Dancehall gospel singer from there. This was my first and definitely, not the last time that my feet will be on the continent of Africa. I felt honored to have been sent by God and we were grateful for the kindness of our hosts, Bishop Musoga and his family and Pastor Reagan and his family. Last year, Prophet Junior Mohalland went, and he gave them my book “The Secret Ingredient to Power and Sustained Relationship with God.” Based on the content they decided to invite me. For one full year, almost every month, Pastor Reagan kept asking me to come, and my response was always that I have received no such instruction from God. One early morning in the month of February this year, the Lord told me to go, and I heard people praying. I felt like it was a Macedonian call to be honest. I called Prophet Dr. Richard Rowe, and he said he got it that he was to come with me, but he was waiting for me to say something first. He also heard people praying. Man, God is such an orchestrater!

Lessons Learnt

Before Trip

Taking Heed

We were told that there is great work to be done and that it would be tiring and draining. O Lord, we survived by the Grace and Mercy of God as we did not give sufficient heed to this word. Our immune system was impacted, and we had to take meds and juice to keep up. Bless God our hosts knew what would help! When God speaks, we must listen as He never exaggerates nor understates what to expect. It was 21 services in 10 days across 6 venues. The journey to some of the venues was long. On the charity day, the sun baked us, but we worshipped with the same intensity in the sun as we did in church!!! A few persons said things that were not very encouraging regarding the trip, we had to press in prayer to really anchor our souls on what God spoke to us regarding the mission.

Doubtful Disputations

Prophet and I, as well as the Truth Speakers Ministry International (TSMI) leaders did much fasting for this trip. Everyone associated with us also prayed and we were grateful. In one of my personal prayer times the Lord said, “Do not be given to doubtful disputations”. Romans 14:1 KJV says, “Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.” AMPC of same verse says, “14 As for the man who is a weak believer, welcome him [into your fellowship], but not to criticize his opinions or pass judgment on his scruples or perplex him with discussions.” This chapter highlights a discourse regarding the differences of opinion as to what to eat and what not to and also which day one should worship. However, for this trip, the reference was not regarding the food or the day. The principle is what God wanted me to take from this verse. The Lord shared that I would see things that are different from what I am accustomed to as a believer, but my assignment was not to try to fix, nor judge, but to love and submit to all the things He instructed us to do. This made ministry easy and sincere.

Heart Matters

The Lord told us to guard our hearts and to stay focused on the assignment. Merciful Father! We were not as diligent as was necessary and Prophet’s heart matter interrupted his flow for three days and my heart matter severely affected me for a day! Our heart matters caused our attention to be divided. Prophet shared that every nation had a different level of consecration that was necessary, and that God would have guided His children accordingly. We learnt this lesson the hard way.

During the Trip

Gratitude

There are several videos on social media as to the state of some places in Africa and most of us think they just look for the worst places to feature because they want money. Ha! This is not the case. We were all over Uganda, and outside of Kampala, most of the districts or villages were very similar. I was amazed at how happy several of the people were with their “little”. No TV, No Smart Phone, No laptop, No iPad, No sofa, No Electricity, No running water, but they can give thanks. On the charity day, men and women, from the children to the elders, were bowing in gratitude both for the meal and the take home packages. It was said that the average family in the village only eat meat at Christmas! With our donations we bought a cow, and it was like Christmas! We bless God for those that sowed into the trip that allowed us to feed over 800 persons! God will multiply your seed and return it into your bosom in Jesus’ name.

Grace

Before we left, Prophet kept saying that it takes grace to do ministry internationally and I understood being there. There were so many variables that could have made ministry difficult and ineffective. To God be the Glory we had the grace! Some of the variables were culture, language, demonic spirits, human spirits, organizational preferences, gender, etc. I believe God was the key to the success and lasting impact on people’s hearts.  Seventeen accepted the Lord Jesus as savior, and their baptism occurred after we left. A few were filled with the Holy Spirit and there were many unique deliverances, healings, prophecies and impartations. A report got to us recently that the person Prophet told to go home and drink the water and check their status, testified that they were healed of HIV/Aids! The village where the charity was held also saw an increase in their membership! The people spoke of feeling hopeful and encouraged and we give God ALL the praise!

Wrong Destinies

Psalm 119: 105 and Proverbs 3:5-6 are very common scriptures for most Christians. We found that this was not so common among those that we ministered to. When we investigated, their personal prayer and word life was very weak. As a result, several persons were not walking according to the destiny God has for them, neither did they have the capacity to carry the weight of some of the prophetic words.  However, some that received the word decided to make adjustments in their lives, God be praised.

Humility

I learnt humility can be contagious. The culture places women in mostly an inferior position. However, when they saw the prophet attending to me, we noticed a change in behavior. One male said, when they saw prophet carry my laptop bag they said, “look how powerful he is”, and he carried my bag. After that I had several people willing to take the bag! I was impressed when two leaders admitted that they needed help and wanted to learn from us.  Bishop said to us that we came and fulfilled what was lacking in him. These levels of humility were heartwarming. May God help us all never to think that we are so exalted that we do not need the brethren.

Depression

Depression is wicked. It robs us in a multiplicity of ways. There was a young lady that was powerfully delivered. The following night she decided to accept the Lord. I watched this woman transform right before my eyes. Before she was just sad and barely spoke. After her deliverance, she was laughing and dancing and singing. When she realized that I was a hugger, I got lots of hugs. The Lord told me to tell her she was beautiful and that He loves her and that she should fix up her self and allow her beauty to be evident. Man, this broadened her smile, and a totally new version emerged. Depression is not permanent and doesn’t need medication in most cases! Our God saves, keeps, heals, delivers and beautifies!

Authority

I was reminded of the authority we have in Christ and the simplicity thereof. In one of the services, there was a deliverance that was somewhat intense. There were visible physical and audible manifestations of the demonic entities. At one point it took quite a bit of persons to hold the individual. There came a point where the person ran off, I pointed to the person and simply said, “I subdue you in Jesus’ name.” That person stopped in their tracks, turned around, walked back to where we were and sat. The spirit was very lippy, I saw however that the agenda was to distract, delay, and to release unnecessary and more than likely inaccurate information about the individual. I simply said shut up and there was a cessation. The spirit seemed as though it wanted to speak again, and I looked and it was subdued again.

Thank you Apostle and Prophet for taking on this great responsibility and for being obedient to the Master’s instructions. Wow! It didn’t only require much spiritual effort and sacrifice but the physical man was challenged. May the Lord Jesus infuse you and the team with strength and zeal to continue!

Praise Jesus! Thanks for sharing your experience. As i read I lived the experience through your eyes and i am humbled for several reasons.
    1. How much i have yet complain comes so easily. This conviction is causing me to be more appreciative of the blessings bestowed on me
    2. I am well fed spiritually and so convicted again to not just get spiritually fat but to work hard in the Vinyard as when much is given much is expected.
Thanks Apostle for being obedient to the call of God and thanks for taking me on the journey with you!
