This blog comes on the heels of our Protection of Purity (P.O.P.) Program (September 9, 2026). The Lord laid it very strongly on my heart to warn and remind influencers to be mindful of what they use their platforms to do. He said that your charming personality and your natural ability to pull people should be seen as a gift. As it is a gift, the Glory should be given back to the giver and not stolen for self.
An influencer by definition is “a person who has the power to affect the opinions, actions, or buying choices of others” (Merriam Webster Dictionary). To be an influencer means that people trust what you say, they will submit to what you say, they will most times respond in the affirmative to what you say. This is not a light thing as they literally are given opportunities to lead people towards life or death, light or darkness, wealth or poverty, wisdom or stupidity. A charmer is very similar, if not the same in some regards. This is someone with a charming personality, a person who delights, attracts, or influences others through personal charm, pleasant manners, or persuasion. They can bring a level of calm or ease in hostile situations also. It is God that sets up men and pulls them down, and He is also the one that graces people with charm. (Psalms 75:6-7).
In scripture, God’s handling of influencers or charmers that choose to misuse what they have been given have met God’s judgment. The epitome of this is through Lucifer the Arch angel that rebelled against God and influenced one-third of the angels to defect. I was watching a video once of a deliverance session. The demon in the person began to plead his case to stay, as he had an unfinished task, which meant severe punishment for him. The deliverance minister began to speak about the fact that Jesus his Father was better than Lucifer, the demon’s dad, and the spirit hissed its teeth. The demon said Lucifer is a deceiver as while they were in heaven, what he promised to give them in exchange for their allegiance to him was never granted, and they are forever doomed. For a moment, it was as though I could visualize the scene, Lucifer having meetings, convincing the angels about himself and promising them what he would offer them in a very charming way. Lucifer is the embodiment of deception, there is no truth in him.
It is believed that the description in Ezekiel 28:12-18 regarding the King of Tyre is in fact a description of Lucifer. What grabbed me about this description of Lucifer is that he was perfection. Him being full of wisdom meant he was full of God Himself. He was a flawless expression of what he was full of, God. His name meant “morning star, shining one or light bearer”, so he was full of light when he was created. His composition was of the finest and most precious of jewels and of tabrets and pipes. He was beautiful to the eyes and ears. Being the anointed cherub that covers gave him reach, as the Hebrew word for anointed in this context carries the root sense of expansion, stretching out, or covering with outstretched wings. Lucifer had reach, he had influence and charm.
His demise came when he chose to not steward well who he was and what he was given. In Isaiah 14: 12-15 KJV, it states, “12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” This angel that was powerful and strategically placed in heaven attempted to rob God of what was and could only be rightfully His as Creator of all things. As influencers or charming people, if you use where God has placed you to manipulate people, or to steer people in a direction that is anti-God or His kingdom or exalt self above God…then your behaviour is Luciferian in nature. Lucifer’s judgement is eternal damnation. He persuaded one-third of the angels and caused them to lose their first estate.
Another example is Korah. He was a Levite who was dissatisfied with merely being among the team responsible for the transportation of the things within the tabernacle. Mr. Korah, along with Dathan, Abiram and On, who were Reubenites, partnered with 250 men to challenge Moses and, by extension, God for the leadership over the children of Israel. Korah was the main spokesperson, and he stated that because all of Israel was holy, there was no need for Moses and Aaron to exalt themselves in the way they did. These influencers caused their families and followers to die. The instigators were swallowed by the earth, and they went straight to hell, while the 250 were burnt to nothing. Sometimes people are battling with similar struggles, but are not allowing it to guide their decisions or actions. When they meet an influencer or charmer who has a similar ideology, something is awakened and strengthened to the point where it is acted upon. It is a common trend on social media to challenge men and women of God without any discernment as to who they are and what they were called and anointed by God to do. There is a strong warning for persons who influence people to hate, disrespect, slander or question the authority of one that God Himself has appointed. Korah and these men took it very personal and forgot that it was God who called Moses and that he did not promote himself. This verbal diarrhea in the body of Christ regarding God’s servant is anti the very nature of God.
These two examples show the effects of immoral influencers. An infiltrator is someone who changes the opinions or breaks up an organization from the inside. They often cause damage or weaken a group. Lucifer disrupted the system of heaven with his immoral influence and set in motion a painful and irreversible destiny for himself and those he influenced. Korah, used his influence to alter the opinions of those in Israel regarding Moses, Aaron and God. A little leaven leavens the whole lump. What was done seemed like a small and light thing, but the impact was generational. Both of these examples were brought back in the New Testament in the book of Jude.
Jude 1 AMPC – 4 For certain men have crept in stealthily [gaining entrance secretly by a side door]. Their doom was predicted long ago, ungodly (impious, profane) persons who pervert the grace (the spiritual blessing and favor) of our God into lawlessness and wantonness and immorality, and disown and deny our sole Master and Lord, Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
5 Now I want to remind you, though you were fully informed once for all, that though the Lord [at one time] delivered a people out of the land of Egypt, He subsequently destroyed those [of them] who did not believe [who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him].
6 And angels who did not keep (care for, guard, and hold to) their own first place of power but abandoned their proper dwelling place—these He has reserved in custody in eternal chains (bonds) under the thick gloom of utter darkness until the judgment and doom of the great day.
7 [The wicked are sentenced to suffer] just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the adjacent towns—which likewise gave themselves over to impurity and indulged in unnatural vice and sensual perversity—are laid out [in plain sight] as an exhibit of perpetual punishment [to warn] of everlasting fire.
8 Nevertheless in like manner, these dreamers also corrupt the body, scorn and reject authority and government, and revile and libel and scoff at [heavenly] glories (the glorious ones).
9 But when [even] the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, judicially argued (disputed) about the body of Moses, he dared not [presume to] bring an abusive condemnation against him, but [simply] said, The Lord rebuke you!
10 But these men revile (scoff and sneer at) anything they do not happen to be acquainted with and do not understand; and whatever they do understand physically [that which they know by mere instinct], like irrational beasts—by these they corrupt themselves and are destroyed (perish).
11 Woe to them! For they have run riotously in the way of Cain, and have abandoned themselves for the sake of gain [it offers them, following] the error of Balaam, and have perished in rebellion [like that] of Korah!
It was mentioned that there is a warning or impending judgement upon anyone who chooses to act in like manner as Korah. These verses also remind us of the fate of the rebellious angels who choose to abandon the course God intended. It also spoke of the ignorance of many that will be speaking on matters or people that they have judged by their natural senses and have not weighed by the spirit and so speak foolishly.
Jesus, our ultimate example in all things, was an awesome influencer and a charmer. He used everything and all He had for the sake of the Glory of God and His Kingdom. The Bible said He went about doing good. Showing people the way, healing all manner of illnesses, strengthening and encouraging, teaching, correcting and bringing order. He had one agenda, the agenda of His Father. He is who we should choose to imitate and influence people to follow. He is the way the, the truth and the life.
As an influencer or a charmer, how are you using what has been freely given to you to advance the Kingdom of God. What is your name synonymous with? What kind of example are you to your family? Think on these things.
